Test Printing
Test printing is highly recommended, to ensure the final prints have the desired visual qualities, such as brightness, contrast, colour accuracy, saturation and vibrancy levels, as well as tonal range and detail.
This can be done in several ways;
- A4/A5/A6 size, full image test prints, to evaluate brightness, colour saturation and vibrancy levels.
- Test strips of an area/s of the full print sized image, to evaluate tonal gradations, highlight and shadow details.
- Full print size test prints on the chosen paper for print, or on a lesser quality test paper of the same surface type. This is to look for areas of the print that may need colour alterations, or details that may need changed. The full size test print can be taken to the gallery / exhibition space to re-evaluate the print’s visual qualities in that specific light setting.
